Portents of the Throne: Card Randomizer for Ker Nethalas
A downloadable game
"You guard this path no more, foul beast! This blade hungers for justice, and today, you shall sate its hunger! Just let me... hold on, time out. I just have to find the table for... is it page 67? I'm sorry, just one second. I dropped the d10 somewhere..."
- you, probably
Introducing Portents of the Throne: Card Randomizer for Ker Nethalas. For the discerning adventurer who values both efficiency and stabbing necropedes.
This deck of 120 cards streamlines gameplay by replacing a number of the most used tables in the book. When asked to roll on one of the supported tables, simply draw a card instead and reference the relevant section. Combat encounters, loot, and other essentials are neatly organized and ready to save you from awkward page-flipping pauses.
In addition to replacing the tables, these cards will also replace the dice needed for the game! I love dice as much as the next guy, but sometimes you don't have a surface to roll on, or your last tragic encounter with a Voidweaver resulted in you chucking them across the room and you'd rather leave them there and let them think about what they've done.
Included tables:
- Room & Corridor Shapes
- Scavenging
- Spoils
- Defensive Move
- Fumble
- Traps
- Potion
- Potion Age
- Combat Encounter
- Overseer
- Hit Location (Humanoid, Winged Biped, Serpent, Quadruped, Insectoid, & Arachnid)
- Difficulty Modifier

Hi there. Are you planning new or updated cards now when the expansions for Ker Nethalas are out?
Hey, I didn't see your comment!
I'd honestly love to make some new cards and update the current ones to tarot size like I said I'd do forever ago. ADHD is a fickle mistress though. It's hard to commit to anything when you're a slave to your creative whims.
Hi. The cards look really awesome, and for sure it is a work of love. Thank you very much.
What's the size of the cards? I'm asking because I would need to sleeve them after printing.
Also, since it is not possible to cover all the permutations in 120 cards, what choices were made to balance the outcome?
Thank you very much.
Hey, thanks for asking! I actually did a bunch of math and planning in a giant spreadsheet to make sure I could cover everything while maintaining the same probability spread as the tables in the game. It's been a while so I can't remember specifically, but I'm pretty sure I made it 120 cards because that number meant I didn't have to make any concessions.
As far as the size of the cards, they're the same size as the official Ker Nethalas cards. I think they're poker size? But the same sleeves should work for both.
Thank you for your answers. I just bought the cards. Beautiful.
Have a nice day.

Would it be possible to get a ZIP of the card images, one card per image? They’re easier to import into virtual card tools that way.
Definitely! I’ll try to get something together for you.
Just uploaded the zip! Sorry it took so long, the charger for my laptop went MIA
Awesome! Thank you!
